Shapes for the Contrechamps 22–23 season comes from a generative design process. A software developed for this occasion produces visual responses based on soundtrack analysis, using the sphere as a research area. It offers a visual representation of sound in real time, based on different settings resulting in visual diversity. Represented on the posters, each shape is therefore the visual response to a specific instant. Every single “color of sound”, variation, intensity and each technical aspect of the musical track will impact the shape and how it behaves on the sphere’s surface. Thanks to this infinity of possible shapes, each musical piece has its unique visual identity. As it is printed, the poster materializes this frozen moment.
